Zee Miller is a Filipina-Saudi Arabian music artist based in Cebu City. She started singing at a young age, she has always been shy but challenged herself to join competitions, to be more confident with her talent. She is now ready to take the next step, and ready to showcase her talent to the world!
Congrats on the release! What was your inspiration when you were writing this project?
Released on July 20, 2023. This song was actually written by Juvy Canlas and was offered to Zee for recording. Juvy intended the song to be performed by one of the Top 3 winners of Mabuhay Virtual Idol contest in 2022. But due to so many complexities and many roadblocks, this song ended up being recorded by Zee Miller. Which is by the way a great thing because it perfectly suits her style and voice.
“In This Storm” speaks about the struggle of not admitting that there is something wrong with a relationship. It’s when we’re giving our best, to the point where we almost beg someone to stay, to try and prove that what you have is worth holding on to.
But, the reality is, we ignore all the signs because it is terrifying to accept that it has become a forced love rather than a true love. It is terrifying to accept that the person you loved and the person you wanted to fight battles with is no longer there – or was never your ally in the first place.
What lessons would you like to impart with your audience?
Communication is a fundamental part in every relationship. Both should open up and speak one’s mind for a relationship to thrive.
What is your favorite part of this body of work?
Finally, I am able to listen to my own self in the most popular streaming platform in the world that is Spotify.
What’s next on your journey?
There is another original song that I will be recording very soon. The draft is already approved. It is called “How To Kill Someone”. No, it is not what you think about 🙂 It will be a distinct song and it will very beautiful and everyone will love it for sure. Expect some thrill.
Zee Miller has a powerful, soulful voice that will touch and captivate your heart. She’s a great storyteller, too, when delivering her song. She’s a rising music artist to watch out for! “In This Storm” is a powerful ballad with similar vibes to music icons Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera, and Philippines’ Zsa Zsa Padilla.
