NewJeans, the rising female K-pop group, is making waves
in the Billboard charts since their official debut. The amazing, beautiful and talented young artists—Danielle, Haerin, Hyein, Hanni, and Minji, gave a show-stopping performance of their viral hits “Super Shy” and “OMG” at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, Nov. 19.
NewJeans danced in single booths to electronic music while dressed in chic schoolgirl costumes. They performed “Super Shy,” nailing every step perfectly. Their supporters, known as Bunnies, chanted with them at the right moment throughout the song. Super Shy captures the emotions that comes with young love—the desire to confess their feelings to someone they like, but they are too shy to do so.
The girls danced in tandem to the upbeat dance routines after changing into fresh attire for “OMG,” which included giant snow boots, sweaters with angel themes, skirts, and printed beanies for the dreamlike set. The dreamy set was perfectly-made for the girls, with white grid walls and cloudlike figures around them! “OMG” focuses on the emotions of joy and fulfillment when you have found the love of your life.
