Indonesian rising pop and RnB singer-songwriter Aziz Hedra…
continues to trend in Asia and around the world with his heartwarming track, “Somebody’s Pleasure.” It went viral on Spotify‘s Indonesian Viral Playlist and got playlisted on several charts in Malaysia and the Philippines. The track also made it to Viral Global and Top 50 playlists in Vietnam, Thailand, and Singapore.
Fans continue to create shorts on YouTube, and upload lyric videos and covers on TikTok. The song has already generated over 38 million streams since its release and more than 5 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
Released under Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia last January 2023, the song shares the story of someone who struggles with anxiety, insecurities, and emptiness. (You can listen to the sped version of “Somebody’s Pleasure” here.)
Aziz penned this song a year ago. It started with a piano arrangement but added more instruments for a fuller sound for its debut. Production-wise, the track had the right blend of instruments, progression, and vocal harmony to highlight the dramatic feel and the song’s message.
Since “Somebody’s Pleasure” is personal to Aziz, he sang it wholeheartedly, full of emotion and honesty. He is a certified soulful crooner with similar tone like Labyrinth and the legendary Brian McKnight.
The MV beautifully shared its powerful message that we can all relate with. We all face different struggles everyday that affects our mental health. But this is just a phase. Aziz encourages us to focus on the solution, rather than our problems.
